“…resting is about more than nourishing body and soul; it is also a picture of surrender.  When we seek our refreshment in Him, we choose to follow His path for our lives, we lean into Him, and we accept His gifts of forgiveness, guidance, and sustenance.”  ~ Steffany Woolsey, A Jane Austen Devotional

The fulfilled life largely consists of unclenching our fists, releasing our plans & giving ourselves over to God’s purposes.  ~Randy Alcorn

“When you are broken enough and tired enough and angry enough that you just can’t mold yourself, fix yourself, do better, be better, when you are just done, grace is lavished on you like nothing you’ve ever experienced.

The world opens up and humility surrounds you and compassion overtakes you because you realize that life is just so hard and “everyone is facing a hard battle”, and instead of trying to be kind, you just become kind.

And you become grace to others.

Because that’s what the Spirit does in a broken beautiful one: He does the work, you just accept the molding.”

~Sarah Mae, author of Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe

As we surrender to Christ’s power (knowing He is bigger than I am) and to His love (knowing He has my best interests in mind), we are able to experience strength from weakness, beauty from ashes, and freedom even in the midst of failure.  ~Emily Freeman

Songs for the Journey

The first time I heard this song, I may have actually cringed.  I liked the lyrics in theory, but I really didn’t want to live them!  God had other plans…  He often does!  I’m far from perfect, and I certainly still have my “moments,” but this song is truly my testimony.
